COURSE TUTOR: Jacky Edwards, glass artist
Jacky is a glass artist based in Dulas near the foot of the Black Hills. Her passion is Pate de Verre (the technique of pressing glass powders, crushed into a mold) and Fused Glass. She also has a Just for Fun range of work, making items using the copper foiling technique.
In this process you will wrap the edges of 2 or 3mm thick glass in thin copper foil. The foil covers the entire edge of the glass and a small amount of the front and back sides. The copper foil is then soldered along the entire joint wherever it touches another piece of glass to form a single piece of work from however many pieces of glass the design requires.
Jacky is offering some have a go opportunities during the day to 15 people. Advance booking recommended, choose from three time slots.
PLEASE NOTE: For safety reasons these sessions are restricted to people aged 12 years and older
